ANNOUNCEMENT
Aerospace
Lighting Institute, Inc. (ALI), is very pleased to announce that ALI is being acquired by Wamco, Inc. Wamco has been involved with ALI since it was founded, thirty-seven (37) years ago, and therefore has a
very excellent understanding of the goals and requirements of our organization.. Wamco
has advertised yearly in the ALI Directory, presented technical presentations at ALI Seminars, served as an ALI Short Course
faculty member, sponsored the famous Wamco hospitality, and for the last few years managed
the annual ALI Golf outing, and subsequently is very well qualified for accomplishing this transition.
Therefore
you can look forward in the future to Wamco maintaining the goals and high standards
set by ALI in the past. It is Wamco’s intention to incorporate improvements
as needed.

Lighting Institute educates and disseminates technical information to the aerospace lighting industry through a Short Course
in the fall (August) and a Seminar (in February), technical books, exhibits, and distribution of Proceedings containing information
on the national and international industry leaders.

* Aerospace Lighting Institute - Aerospace Lighting Institute
was founded by Mr. Geo. W. Godfrey who has been Executive Director for over thirty-seven years. This organization holds two
seminars each year which are attended by both national and international technical personnel involved in this industry.
* S.A.E. - Mr. Godfrey was the Chairman of the National S.A.E. Aircraft Lighting Committee A-20A
for forty years; a tribute to his leadership and national reputation in the aerospace lighting industry. Received SAE's "Man
of the Year" award.
* Godfrey Engineering - In 1970, formed Godfrey Engineering as a small 4-person company which
grew into a multimillion dollar organization. Acted as President and C.E.O. for the duration of the company and was the only
stockholder. Successfully bid, won and carried out approximately 60 government
contracts. Received letters of commendation from the FAA, Lockheed, etc., attesting to the company's high standards and excellent
reputation. The products and systems in the Godfrey Engineering product
line were the creation of Mr. Geo. W. Godfrey. Many of the new products developed after Mr. Godfrey sold the company to BFGoodrich
were conceived by Mr. Godfrey. BFGoodrich has filed many patents on these products. The
last year Mr. Godfrey owned the company was its highest sales year and 40% gross profit culminated a 20-year growth and profitability
cycle.
* North American Rockwell - Had 27 years experience in various Engineering management positions.
Supervisor Electronic Engineering; Project Engineer; Chief Project Engineer, Manager of Electro-optics R&D, etc. Business
management positions included Program Manager of entire missile programs, responsible for marketing, engineering, manufacturing,
quality, profitability, etc.
* Author - Has written four technical books (distributed nationally and internationally) dealing
with Air Vehicle Lighting.
* Speaker - Presented over 40 technical papers dealing with aerospace vehicles and has given
speeches before many technical, civic and business organizations. In addition to many awards from these organizations, as
well as government agencies, his technical paper presented in October 1992 at the Illumination Engineering Society International
Conference in London won "Best Technical Paper." |
